Individual Medley

Individual medley (IM) is a competitive swimming event in which a single swimmer completes all four competitive strokes in sequence: butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle. It is raced over standard distances such as 200m and 400m in pools and tests an athlete's overall versatility rather than specialization in one stroke. It appears at all major swimming competitions, including the Olympics.
