High Power Rifle

High power rifle is a shooting sport in which competitors fire high-powered, high-caliber rifles at targets from various distances, often out to 600 yards or more, testing marksmanship, wind reading, and rifle handling under time pressure. Matches, sanctioned in the U.S. largely by organizations like the Civilian Marksmanship Program and USA Shooting/NRA, typically include stages fired from standing, sitting, kneeling, and prone positions. It attracts competitive shooters, hunters, and former or current military and law enforcement personnel who value long-range precision shooting.
