Freestyle Skiing

Freestyle skiing is an Olympic winter sport encompassing disciplines such as moguls, aerials, ski cross, halfpipe, and slopestyle, in which skiers perform jumps, flips, spins, and technical turns that are scored by judges or timed against competitors. It evolved from "hot dogging" exhibition skiing in the 1960s and 70s into a formal competitive sport. Athletes are drawn to the combination of athleticism, aerial acrobatics, and creative trick execution.
