Escala I Corda

Escala i corda ('ladder and rope') is a Catalan tradition of building human towers, or castells, performed at festivals in Catalonia, Spain. Participants climb onto each other's shoulders in coordinated layers to form towering human structures, often using ropes (faixes, sashes) tied around the waist for support and grip. It is prized as a community activity emphasizing trust, strength, and collective effort.
