Dabkeh

Dabkeh is a traditional Levantine Arab folk line dance performed at weddings, celebrations, and national festivities across Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Palestine. Dancers link hands or shoulders in a line or circle, stamping their feet in unison to the beat, typically led by a lead dancer (lawweeh) who improvises steps at the head of the line. It is prized as a communal expression of joy and cultural identity, often accompanied by instruments like the mijwiz or drums.
