Philly Dog
The Philly Dog was an American dance craze of the mid-1960s that emerged from the soul and R&B music scene, part of a wave of animal-themed novelty dances popular in that era (alongside dances like the Dog and the Watusi). It was popularized through recordings named after the dance and performed at dance parties and on televised music shows of the time. Like many period dance crazes, it faded from mainstream popularity by the end of the decade but remains a reference point in the history of American social dance.
