Chinese Handball

Chinese handball is an urban schoolyard and street game, especially popular in New York City, in which players use their hands to hit a small rubber ball against a wall (often with a marked box or line) so that it bounces once before an opponent must return it. It's typically played one-on-one or in small groups on stoops, sidewalks, or handball courts, and eliminates players who fail to return the ball legally. The game requires quick reflexes and hand-eye coordination and has been a staple of city playground culture for decades.
