Beach Handball

Beach handball is a variant of team handball played on sand, typically 4-on-4, with matches consisting of short, high-scoring sets and rules that reward spectacular plays like spinshots and diving goals with bonus points. It is recognized by the International Handball Federation and has its own World Championships, growing out of standard handball to create a faster, more acrobatic beach version. Players and fans are drawn to its athletic showmanship and the fast turnover of possession in the sand environment.
