Beach Volleyball

Beach volleyball is a team sport played on a sand court, most commonly in a two-versus-two format, where players hit a ball over a net trying to ground it on the opponent's side. It originated in Southern California in the early 20th century and became an Olympic sport in 1996. The sand surface adds physical difficulty and slows the game compared to indoor volleyball, rewarding endurance, ball control, and adaptability to wind and sun.
