Beach Korfball

Beach korfball is a sand-court adaptation of korfball, the mixed-gender Dutch team sport in which players shoot a ball into a high, netless basket (korf) without backboard assistance. Played in smaller teams than the indoor or field version, it retains korfball's distinctive mixed-gender team composition and rule that a defender may only guard an attacker of the same sex. It is promoted by the International Korfball Federation as a fast, informal variant suited to beach sports festivals.
