Verbal Aikido is a communication technique that applies the principles of the martial art Aikido—redirecting an opponent's energy rather than meeting force with force—to defusing verbal conflict, criticism, or aggression. It teaches practitioners to acknowledge and redirect hostile or difficult remarks calmly instead of reacting defensively, often used in customer service, negotiation, and conflict resolution training.
