Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientific approach to understanding and changing behavior through techniques based on learning principles, most commonly used in the treatment of autism spectrum disorder. Practitioners, often called behavior analysts or ABA therapists, use reinforcement strategies to increase helpful behaviors and reduce harmful or interfering ones. It is widely used by clinicians, educators, and behavior technicians working with children and adults with developmental disabilities.
