Positive Behavior Support

Healthcare and Medical

Positive Behavior Support (PBS) is a evidence-based framework used by educators, behavior analysts, and caregivers to understand the function of challenging behaviors and teach appropriate replacement skills, rather than relying on punishment. It's widely applied in schools (as PBIS), special education, and applied behavior analysis (ABA) settings to support individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral difficulties. Practitioners use functional behavior assessments and individualized support plans to improve quality of life and reduce problem behavior.
