Manufacturing Technician
A Manufacturing Technician operates and maintains production equipment on a factory floor, performing quality checks, assembling components, and troubleshooting mechanical or process issues as they arise during a shift. This hands-on, entry-to-mid-level role applies Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to reduce waste and defects, often involving CNC Machine Operation and rigorous Quality Control checks. Strong Troubleshooting skills are essential for keeping production lines running with minimal downtime.
Duties & responsibilities
- Operate and maintain production equipment including furnaces, CNC machines, and specialized manufacturing systems
- Perform quality control checks and inspections to ensure components meet specifications and engineering standards
- Assemble and bond components following written work instructions and technical drawings
- Prepare materials and surfaces for production through cleaning, sanding, mixing, or surface treatment
- Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules
- Document work completion and quality data according to production and compliance requirements
- Follow safety protocols and procedures appropriate to the production environment, including cleanroom or hazardous material handling
