Wife-Carrying

Wife-carrying is a quirky competitive sport, most famously held annually in Sonkajärvi, Finland, in which men race through an obstacle course while carrying a female partner using various holds, such as piggyback or upside-down (the "Estonian carry"). Winners often receive the wife's weight in beer as a prize, and the sport has spread internationally as a lighthearted, offbeat athletic novelty event.
