Turkey Trot

The turkey trot is a Thanksgiving Day tradition in the United States consisting of a fun run or charity road race, typically 5K in distance, held on Thanksgiving morning before holiday meals. The oldest, in Buffalo, New York, dates back to 1896, and thousands of similar races now take place across the country, often raising money for charity. Participants enjoy it as a way to offset holiday indulgence and take part in a festive community event, often in costume.
