Tejo

Tejo is Colombia's national sport, a traditional game in which players throw metal discs (tejos) across a court at a clay-filled target board embedded with small gunpowder-filled paper packets called mechas, aiming to trigger an explosion for bonus points while also scoring for accuracy. It is typically played socially in tejo courts, often alongside drinking beer, and combines elements of horseshoes and bocce with an explosive twist. The sport has deep roots in Colombian indigenous history and remains a popular pastime today.
