Superbike Racing

Superbike racing is a motorcycle road-racing category using modified production-based motorcycles (as opposed to purpose-built prototype machines), most prominently contested in the FIM Superbike World Championship (WSBK). Bikes retain their basic production chassis and engine architecture but are heavily upgraded for racing, making the category a showcase for technology that trickles down to consumer motorcycles. It draws fans who enjoy seeing recognizable street-legal-derived bikes pushed to their competitive limits.
