Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing

Grand Prix motorcycle racing is the premier class of motorcycle road racing, sanctioned by the FIM and best known today through the MotoGP World Championship. Riders compete on purpose-built prototype motorcycles at high speeds on closed circuits, with races historically divided into classes by engine displacement (such as 125cc, 250cc, and 500cc, now replaced by Moto3, Moto2, and MotoGP). It has been held since 1949 and represents the highest level of two-wheeled motorsport competition globally.
