Skimboarding

Skimboarding is a beach sport in which a rider drops a flat board onto the thin wash of water left by a receding wave near the shoreline, then glides across the wet sand and can ride out into breaking waves. Unlike surfing, it starts from the beach rather than paddling out, making it accessible without deep water. It appeals to surfers and beachgoers who want a fast, skill-based way to interact with shorebreak waves.
