Sack Race

A sack race is a novelty running race, common at children's parties, school field days, and community fairs, in which each participant climbs into a burlap or cloth sack pulled up to the waist and hops toward the finish line. Its appeal lies in the comic, off-balance hopping motion it forces, making it as much about entertainment as competition.
