Egg and Spoon Race

The egg and spoon race is a classic children's party and field-day game in which competitors race a set distance while balancing an egg (real or, more often now, plastic or wooden) on a spoon held out in front of them, trying not to drop it. Anyone who drops their egg typically must stop, retrieve it, and place it back on the spoon before continuing. It's popular at school sports days, fairs, and family gatherings for its simplicity and the comic difficulty of maintaining balance while moving quickly.
