Real Tennis

Real Tennis (also called court tennis) is the original racquet sport from which modern lawn tennis derived, played on an irregularly shaped indoor walled court with sloped penthouse roofs, and rules allowing shots off the walls. It uses a hard, hand-stitched ball and asymmetric wooden racquets, with scoring similar to tennis but with additional features like chases. It survives mainly at a small number of historic clubs in England, France, the US, and Australia, drawing devotees interested in its history and tactical complexity.
