Platform Tennis
Platform tennis, sometimes called paddle tennis or POP tennis's cousin, is a racquet sport played on a small, elevated, screen-enclosed platform court using solid paddles and a slightly depressurized tennis-style ball, with the surrounding screens kept in play similar to squash. It was invented in the 1920s in the United States specifically to be playable outdoors through cold winter months, since the platform includes built-in heating to keep it snow-free. It remains especially popular in the northeastern United States as a social winter sport played in doubles.
