Overclocking

Overclocking is the practice of running a computer component, such as a CPU or GPU, at a higher clock speed than its factory-set rate to increase performance. Hobbyist overclockers tweak voltage, cooling, and BIOS settings to safely push hardware beyond stock specifications, often to boost gaming or benchmarking performance. It carries risks of instability, heat damage, or reduced component lifespan if done improperly, and is popular among PC enthusiasts and benchmark competitors.
