Hooverball

A game invented in the late 1920s for U.S. President Herbert Hoover as a way to stay fit, combining elements of tennis and volleyball but played with a heavy medicine ball thrown over a net instead of a lighter ball hit with rackets or hands. It is still played recreationally and competitively, notably at an annual Hooverball championship in West Branch, Iowa.
