Caber Toss
The caber toss is a traditional Scottish Highland Games event in which athletes lift and toss a long, tapered wooden pole called a caber, running forward before flipping it end over end. Unlike many throwing events, success is judged on the caber landing straight (in the "12 o'clock" position relative to the run-up) rather than on distance thrown. It requires a combination of strength, balance, and technique, and remains one of the signature spectacles of Highland Games competitions.
