Goat Tying

Goat tying is a rodeo event, often for youth and women competitors, in which a rider gallops a horse to a staked goat, dismounts, catches the goat, throws it to the ground, and ties three of its legs together as quickly as possible. It emphasizes speed, dismounting technique, and animal-handling skill, and is a common event at high school, collegiate, and amateur rodeos, particularly in the United States. It is often seen as an entry event for young riders developing rodeo skills.
