French Cricket

French cricket is a casual, simplified bat-and-ball backyard game, popular especially in Britain, Australia, and New Zealand, in which a single batter stands with legs together while other players try to bowl a ball at their legs (the "wicket") to get them out, with the batter allowed to move only their feet, not their whole body, to block the ball. There are no wickets, pitch, or running between bases as in standard cricket, making it accessible for casual play among mixed ages and skill levels. It is popular at family gatherings, picnics, and beach outings due to its minimal equipment and simple rules.
