Freestyle Skateboarding

Freestyle skateboarding is one of the oldest disciplines of skateboarding, focused on flatground technical tricks such as board spins, footwork combinations, handstands, and manuals performed on a flat surface without ramps or rails. Popular from the 1960s through the 1980s, it emphasizes balance, precision, and choreography rather than speed or big air. A dedicated community keeps the discipline alive today with its own competitions distinct from mainstream street and vert skateboarding.
