Diplomacy
Diplomacy is a strategic board game designed by Allan B. Calhamer in 1954, set in pre-World War I Europe, where players negotiate alliances, betray one another, and move military units to conquer territory without any element of chance like dice. It is renowned for its emphasis on face-to-face negotiation, persuasion, and trust (or the breaking of it), making it as much a social and psychological game as a tactical one. Hobbyists are drawn to its deep strategy and the dramatic interpersonal dynamics it creates.
