Coursing

Coursing is a field sport in which dogs, typically sighthounds such as greyhounds or whippets, pursue game or an artificial lure primarily by sight rather than scent, testing the dogs' speed, agility, and hunting instinct. Traditional live-hare coursing has been banned in most countries on animal welfare grounds and has largely been replaced by lure coursing, a non-lethal competitive version using a mechanically dragged lure.
