Competition Bouldering

Competition bouldering is a climbing discipline in which athletes climb short, unroped routes called 'problems' on walls typically under 15-20 feet high, with crash pads for protection instead of ropes. Competitors are scored on how many problems they complete and how efficiently they do so, often within a limited number of attempts and time. It is a core discipline of international climbing competitions, including the IFSC World Cup circuit and the Olympics, and appeals to climbers who enjoy puzzle-solving, power moves, and dynamic technique.
