Clout Archery

Clout archery is a traditional form of archery in which archers shoot arrows at a very long range (typically 165-185 yards) toward a small flag or marker laid flat on the ground, aiming for a target scored in concentric rings around it. Because of the distance, archers must arc their shots high into the air rather than shooting flat, making trajectory judgment the central skill. It has historical roots in medieval military archery training and survives today as a niche competitive discipline within archery clubs.
