Chinese Checkers

Chinese checkers is a strategy board game played on a star-shaped board with marbles or pegs, in which two to six players try to move all of their pieces from their home triangle to the opposite triangle before their opponents. Moves consist of single steps or successive hops over adjacent pieces, rewarding players who can plan chains of jumps. Despite its name, the game did not originate in China—it was developed in Germany in the 1890s as a variant of the American game Halma—but it draws casual and family players for its simple rules and appealing geometric board.
