Wheel of Fortune

Wheel of Fortune is a long-running American television game show in which contestants spin a large carnival-style wheel to determine cash and prize values, then guess letters to solve word and phrase puzzles similar to hangman. Created by Merv Griffin, it debuted in 1975 and has aired in a nightly syndicated version since 1983, becoming one of the most successful and widely franchised game shows in television history. Its catchphrases, puzzle board, and wheel format have made it a fixture of American popular culture.
