Discus Throw

The discus throw is the track and field event in which athletes hurl a discus as far as possible from within a marked circle, using a spinning technique to generate power before release. It has been contested since the ancient Olympic Games and remains one of the four throwing events in modern athletics, alongside shot put, javelin, and hammer throw. Competitors are judged on the single farthest legal throw recorded during a series of attempts.
