Bughouse Chess
Bughouse chess is a team chess variant played on two adjoining boards by four players in two teams of two, where captured pieces are passed to one's partner, who can then drop them onto their own board instead of moving. This creates fast, chaotic, highly tactical play very different from standard chess, since material captured on one board directly affects the other. It's especially popular among club and college chess players as a lively, social, blitz-paced alternative to traditional chess.
