Supply Chain Analyst
A supply chain analyst examines data on inventory, shipping, and procurement to identify inefficiencies and support forecasting and planning decisions, frequently building models in Excel and pulling data from ERP systems like SAP. They perform supply chain modeling and data analysis to recommend improvements in cost, speed, or reliability, working closely with procurement, logistics, and operations teams. This analytical, entry-to-mid-level role suits detail-oriented problem solvers comfortable with spreadsheets and quantitative reasoning.
Duties & responsibilities
- Analyze inventory, demand, and supply data to identify inefficiencies and forecast needs
- Build and maintain spreadsheet models to support planning and decision-making
- Extract and process data from ERP systems and other operational databases
- Recommend cost and efficiency improvements to procurement, logistics, and operations teams
- Monitor supply chain metrics and track performance against targets
- Support inventory management and supplier relationship decisions with quantitative analysis
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements
