Site Reliability Engineer
A Site Reliability Engineer applies software engineering practices to keep production systems reliable, scalable, and performant, often working within cloud infrastructure environments built on Kubernetes. Core responsibilities include setting up monitoring and observability tooling, leading incident response when systems fail, and writing scripts in Python or Bash to automate operational tasks. Duties & responsibilities
- Monitor production systems and set up alerting to detect failures quickly
- Respond to incidents, coordinate with teams to resolve outages, and document learnings
- Design and improve infrastructure for reliability, scalability, and performance at scale
- Automate operational tasks and reduce manual toil using scripting and deployment tools
- Manage Kubernetes clusters, cloud platforms, and distributed systems in production
- Write Infrastructure as Code to define and version cloud infrastructure and configurations
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate reliability practices into development workflows
- Lead and mentor other engineers on reliability, incident response, and systems design
