Security Engineer
Security Engineers design, implement, and maintain systems that protect applications, infrastructure, and data from unauthorized access, vulnerabilities, and cyber threats. The work spans multiple domains—cloud security, application security, network infrastructure, identity and access management, and threat detection—using tools like firewalls, vulnerability scanners, SIEMs, and cloud security platforms to identify risks and deploy defenses. Duties & responsibilities
- Design and implement security controls across cloud, container, and infrastructure environments using infrastructure-as-code tools
- Identify vulnerabilities and security risks through scanning, code analysis, penetration testing, or threat modeling
- Build detection systems and automation to identify threats, respond to incidents, and reduce manual security work
- Collaborate with engineering teams to remediate vulnerabilities and integrate security practices into deployment pipelines
- Conduct incident response, threat investigations, and adversarial simulations to test and strengthen defenses
- Manage identity and access controls, endpoint security, and data protection across platforms and environments
