Commissioning Engineer
Commissioning Engineers oversee the testing, verification, and documentation of complex systems or equipment as they transition from construction or manufacturing to operational deployment. They conduct functional checks, manage quality assurance processes, and ensure specifications are met through hands-on field work and detailed technical documentation, working across manufacturing facilities, data centers, or critical infrastructure projects. Duties & responsibilities
- Test mechanical and electrical systems to verify they meet design specifications and operational requirements
- Document commissioning activities and create technical records at each commissioning level
- Conduct functional checks and quality assurance across system components before handover
- Manage vendor performance and coordinate third-party commissioning agents on project deliverables
- Troubleshoot equipment issues identified during testing and coordinate corrective actions
- Transition systems from construction or manufacturing phase to operational deployment status
- Review construction drawings, equipment submittals, and technical documentation for accuracy and completeness
