Women Pentathlon

Women's pentathlon most commonly refers to the modern pentathlon event for female athletes, an Olympic multi-discipline sport combining fencing, swimming, equestrian show jumping, and a combined laser-pistol shooting and cross-country running event, with women's modern pentathlon added to the Olympic program in 2000. It demands a rare combination of endurance, precision, and skill across very different physical disciplines. Historically the term has also applied to the women's athletics pentathlon, a track-and-field multi-event contested before it was replaced by the heptathlon.
