Wicket

In cricket, a wicket refers to the set of three stumps and two bails that a bowler aims to hit, as well as the term used for the dismissal of a batter ("taking a wicket") or the pitch itself ("the wicket"). The term is central to the sport's scoring and strategy, since a team's innings ends after ten wickets fall, making wicket-taking a key tactical objective for bowlers.
