Vertical Jump

The vertical jump is an athletic movement in which a person jumps straight upward from a standing or crouched position to reach maximum height, commonly measured as a test of lower-body explosive power. It is a key training focus and performance metric in sports like basketball, volleyball, and track and field, often assessed using devices like the Vertec or jump mats. Coaches use vertical jump tests to evaluate athletic potential and track improvements from strength and plyometric training.
