Trugo

Trugo is a sport unique to Australia, originating among railway workshop employees in Victoria in the early 20th century, in which players use a mallet to strike a rubber ring (originally a train buffer washer) through a small goal at the end of a narrow court. It requires precision and controlled power rather than speed, and it remains a niche, mostly recreational game played by a small number of enthusiasts and clubs in Melbourne. It's notable as one of the few sports invented in Australia and still practiced almost exclusively there.
