Swamp Football

Swamp football (also called swamp soccer) is a variant of association football played on a waterlogged, muddy marsh or bog field instead of grass, which drastically slows movement and turns matches into a muddy, comedic spectacle. It originated in Finland in the 1990s as off-season training for cross-country skiers and athletes, and has since grown into an international novelty sport with its own World Championships.
