Sudoku

Sudoku is a logic-based number-placement puzzle in which a 9x9 grid divided into nine 3x3 subgrids must be filled so that each row, column, and subgrid contains the digits 1 through 9 exactly once. It became a global pastime in the 2000s after being popularized by Japanese puzzle publisher Nikoli, though its modern form originated in American puzzle magazines. Fans enjoy it as a portable, purely logical brain exercise that requires no arithmetic, only deduction.
