Skyrunning

Skyrunning is a mountain running discipline contested at high altitude (generally above 2,000 meters) on steep terrain with gradients that can exceed 30%, often including technical climbing sections with fixed ropes. Governed internationally by the International Skyrunning Federation, it appeals to endurance athletes and trail runners drawn to extreme elevation gain and dramatic alpine scenery.
