Samba De Gafieira

Samba de Gafieira is a Brazilian partner dance style that developed in the gafieiras (working-class dance halls) of Rio de Janeiro, blending samba rhythm with elements of tango and other ballroom dances into flowing turns, dips, and close embraces. It is more intricate and improvisational in its partnering than the solo samba seen at Carnival, and is practiced socially and in dance academies.
